At Stewart Memorial Hospital, Tyne Valley, on Thursday, April 18, 2013, of Emma Clarisse (Gallant) Francis, Lennox Island, in her 100th year, wife of the late John Andrew Francis. Born in South Rustico, Aug. 2, 1913, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Gauthier) Gallant. Dear mother to Marilyn (Jack) Sark, Lennox Island; Martina (David) Benton, Charlottetown; Dianne Francis, Charlottetown; Alan (Karen) Francis, Lot 16; Carolyn (Jim) Sark, Rocky Point; Chief Brian (Georgina) Francis, Rocky Point; and Beverley Francis, Charlottetown. Loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as, many nieces and nephews. Emma is also survived by brother John (Faye) Gallant, Alliston, Ont., brother and sisters-in-law Albert (Thelma) Francis, Connecticut, U.S., and Bertha Francis, Rocky Point.
Predeceased by her parents, husband, son-in-law Michael Francis, brother Emile and sisters Mary, Margaret and Martha. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Friday, April 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 20, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., then to St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Lennox Island, for funeral mass at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Lennox Island. In memory of Emma, memorials to St. Anne's Church Fund would be appreciated.
