It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Tessie, a former resident of Victoria Haven Nursing Home, which occurred Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret MacLean.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s parish and a very social person. She loved to travel and enjoyed showers, bingo and playing cards.
Tessie is survived by her children, Patricia (Neil) Turner, Kimble and Janssen (Monica), all of Alberta, Michael (Wendy), Birch Grove, and Eugene, Glace Bay; grandchildren, Sonya (Bradley), Sasha, Derek, Dylan and Kyra; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Emma; brothers, Neil, Fabian and Bernie; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Patrick.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Reception will follow in the parish hall.
Donations in Tessie’s memory can be offered to the Diabetes Association or charity of one’s choice.
