Passed peacefully away at Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarke’s Beach on Thursday, February 11, 2010, Mr. Samuel Fillier of South River, aged 83 years. Predeceased by parents John and Jessie Fillier (nee Mugford), wife Florence, son Raymond, daughter Esther Louise, sisters Alma (Clarence) Head, Elsie (Joseph) Butler, brothers Stan, Robert, William, brothers-in-law Leo Hanlon and George Warren. Leaving to mourn daughters: Millie Goff (Rick Pratley), Valerie (Brian) Messenger, Jacqueline Fillier (Kevin Ruttan); sisters: Jessie (Jack) Campbell, Annie Warren, Dorothy Hanlon; grandchildren: Chris (Lori), Courtney, Brittany, Stefanie, Nicole; great-grandchild Trevor, sister-in-law Carrie. Sam was the Custodian at Ascension Collegiate, Bay Roberts, Firefighter & Crash Rescueman, Pepperrell Air Force Base, St. John's, Firefighter, Goose Bay, Air Base Labrador. He will also be missed by a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore’s Funeral Home, Clarke’s Beach. Visitation Saturday 2-5 p.m., 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from St. George’s Anglican Church, North River.
