Jack Crain
CRAIN, JACK LEWIS - The death of Jack Lewis Crain, formerly of Dumfries, York Co., N.B. occurred in Victoria, B.C., on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the age of 77. Born in Monquart, Carleton Co., N.B. on December 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Leslie Vincent Crain, and Alice Lena (Wright) Crain. Educated in Dumfries and Southampton, he enlisted in the Canadian Army on July 16, 1954 - first with the Royal Canadian Engineers, and then with the Canadian Postal Corps. He saw service at several Bases, across Canada, as well as Germany and the Middle East. He is survived by brothers, Perley, Fredericton; Paul (Louise), Norton, NB; Frank (Gail), Dumfries; Clifford, Whitehorse, and Basil (Masie), Nackawic, and a sister, Phyllis Crain, of Eli, Manitoba. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Earl and Lee, as well as sisters, Hazel Marie, Lilla Gertrude, Thelma (Mrs. Carvell Campbell), and Edith (Mrs Daverne Cronkhite). He is also survived by sister-in-law, Evelyn (Mrs. Earl Crain), and brother-in-law, Daverne Cronkhite (Edith), as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special niece, Debbie.
His cremated remains, will be interred in the Hatley Memorial Gardens, Victoria, BC. On-line condolences, can be made through debbiestevens@hotmail.com.
