SIMPSON, BERTHA M. - 1920 - 2013 - Bertha Simpson, 92, of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at Monarch Hall, Riverview, NB, on March 30, 2013. Born in Dartmouth, NS, on July 1st, 1920, to Lena Bona from Arichat Island, NS, and Albert McGrath, from Tracadie, NB. Bertha was the eldest of 11 children. Married to her first love, Albert (Mike) Cameron from Scotland, until she had notification that he was missing in action, with the army. Bertha was predeceased by her second husband, Wilfred E. Simpson. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Cietta (David) Babineau, Moncton, NB, and son Russell (Gwen) Reese, Prince George, BC, grandchildren; Michael Babineau (Daila), Loren Lewis (David) Stevan Babineau, Gary Reese and Tyler Reese (Selena), she also had many great grandchildren, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, most of whom live in various parts of Canada and the United States. Bertha was a very religious lady who loved her children and all of her friends. She had many interest, an excellent seamstress, paintings (oils, acrylics and watercolours), and numerous crafts. She loved people and her door was always open.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursday, April 25 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25 at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined in favour of donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
