It is with great sadness that the family of Hubert George Simmons announce his sudden passing at his family residence on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Donna, Judy (John), Garrie (Deyon), Kitty (Terry), Verna, Valma (Ted), Thelma, Kathy (Randy), Daren (Kim), Lori, Penny (Richard), 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, siblings: Eric (Eva), Carl (Donna), Marion Strong, Pearl Knight, Julia Upwards, Valma (Jim) Saunders, sister-in-law; Jean Simmons. Hubert was predeceased by his wife; Bonnie, his mother Lillian, father Archibald, mother & father-in-law; Mary-Ann and Robert Bartlett, brothers: Woodrow & Edward Simmons, brothers-in-law: Ross Strong, Eric Knight and Jack Upwards, sister-in-law Marion Simmons & sons-in-law; Eldon Gilbert & Keith Schwartz. As per Hubert's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Friday, April 26th, 2013 at 2 p.m. from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, with Major Wayne Pike officiating with the burial to follow at the church cemetery in Deer Lake, NL.
