It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Glenn William Skinner on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at home.
Glenn is survived by his son, Andrew (the boy) and good friend, Joanne MacDonald-Ryan, North Sydney. Glenn is also survived by his mother, Sarah (Caines) and was predeceased by his father, John Charles Skinner. Also survived by sisters, Sheila (Archie) McDonald, Westmount and Rayleen (Ed) MacNeil, Grand Mira South; brothers, Gary (Sheila), Glace Bay and Cordel (Donna), Fort McMurray; nephews Gary, Ryan, Aaron, Craig, Kyle, Evan and great-nephews, Lukas, Madden, Teddy and Finn; nieces Amanda and Zoey.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Glenn had a nickname that many people knew him as ‘Mousie’. He was employed as a mechanic at Gerald Ultramar for many years. He was very involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 3, Glace Bay.
Visitation for Glenn William Skinner will be held in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27 in St Mary’s Anglican Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Reception to follow in the church foyer. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice. Family flowers only by request.
