NEW GLASGOW – Mable Alma Fraser, age 95, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow and formerly of Priestville, passed away on Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 in Glen Haven Manor.
Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Yerxa.
Mable was a resident of Priestville all of her married life. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and crafts.
Surviving are daughters: Joan (James) Grant, Halifax; Sylvia Kirwan, New Glasgow; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Gertie Williams, Moncton; Catherine Purvis, Walkerville; Myrtle Fraser, Truro; a brother Clyde (Marion) Yerxa, Garden of Eden.
She was predeceased by her parents; stepmother Annie Yerxa; husband Walter D. Fraser; son Robert W. Fraser; son-in-law Willie Kirwan; grandson Kerry Grant; granddaughter Susan Darlyn Grant; great-grandson Fraser D. Kirwan; great-granddaughter Amber D. Kirwan; brother Arthur Yerxa; sisters Mary and Helen Keigan.
Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation or service by the request of the deceased. A private graveside service will take place at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Mable may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home.
