SHIELDS, DOUGLAS WARREN - (1924 - 2013) - REXTON, NB - Douglas Shields 88, of Rexton passed away at home on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late George and late Mary (Warren) Shields. Douglas was a member of the Air Crew in the Bomber Command, R.C.A.F. during the second world war. He worked many years in Toronto and retired to South Branch in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his younger years, he loved going to his uncle Lester and Aunt Ethel Warren's house for snowball fights with all his cousins. Douglas will be sadly missed by his brother; Gordon Shields (Sandra) of Fredericton, three nieces; Carolyn of Toronto, Gail of Toronto, Janet of Fredericton and many cousins.
As per Douglas's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (506-523-4252).
