Captain Cecil James Spurrell, age 85, of Queen’s Cove quietly put out to sea on April 25th, 2013. He will be sadly missed by family and friends on shore. Predeceased by his wife, Geneva, granddaughter, parents, brother, and sister. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his children, Glenys (Cyril Strowbridge), Effie (Ernie Roberts), Betty (David Vokey), Jack (Kim), Jeff (Charlotte), Terry (Val), Bernie (Brenda); 10 grandchildren, Jim (Kay), Rick, Barry (Deidra), Cathy (Al), Leanne (Scott), Jenelle (Tyler), Jonathan (Vicki), Amanda (Patrick), Arianna, and Faith; 3 great-grandchildren Tamika, Tanesha, Elliott; brothers Edmund (Faye) and Andrew (Phyllis deceased), and a large circle of family and friends. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Myrna Vey, Rev. Allan Fry, and Rev. Russell Lodge, took place on April 28th, 2013, from the United Church, Queen’s Cove, with interment following at the Anglican Cemetery, Queen’s Cove.
