BASKIN, TREVA MAY - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Treva May Baskin, who passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex on April 29, 2013. Born in Lewis Settlement, NB March of 1919 she was the daughter of the late William and Dolly (Dobson) Melvin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Treva lived in Sussex in her earlier years then in Saint John. She enjoyed knitting and her walks to Kings Square. Treva is survived by her son Norman Melvin (Cathy) of Saint John and daughter Rita Patterson (Gerry) of Sussex; fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Treva was predeceased by her husband George Baskin, son Lynn Baskin; daughter Ruby Gailey; brothers William, Roy, Albert and Nelson Melvin and sister Myrtle Shaw.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, April 30th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
