Bourque, Louis “Bruno” – 89 , November 25, 1923 – April 28, 2013. It is with sad and broken hearts we wish to announce that our Dad, Bruno of Sluice Point passed away on April 28,2013 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Bruno was the son of the late Melbourne and Bertha Emma (Babin) Bourque. Dad worked as a mechanic all his life starting at a young age, during World War II on the Canadian Royal Navy Corvette program, Baker Motors, Armstrong Motors, Town Motors and retiring from the School Bus Garage at Ste- Anne-du-Ruisseau (CSAP). Dad was a quiet man who devoted his life to his family. His greatest passion in life was mowing lawns and working outdoors in his woodpile. He is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Juliette (Pothier) Bourque; children, Gisèle (Thomas) Doucet, Sluice Point; Denise (Mario) Surette, Sluice Point; Lisette (Royden) d’Eon, Pubnico; Giles (Paula) Bourque, Sluice Point; grandchildren, Marc, Denis (Amanda), Josette (Corey), Lucien, Nadine, Joelle; sisters, Rachael Cottreau, Zita Chapman, Rolande Hanga and Viola O’Connor. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Bourque. In accordance with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. There was no visitation at his request. A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday , May 1 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill at 10 30 a.m., Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for their concern and professional care for Dad during his time of illness. Memorial donations in Dad’s memory can be made to the VON, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
If God has a lawn, it will be well taken care of as Dad is surely there.
