HACHEY, CHARLES "CHARLIE" - On Tuesday, April 30, 2013 Charles “Charlie” Francis Hachey, husband of the late Lauretta (Kelly) Hachey of Bryenton, NB, passed away suddenly surrounded by his family, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 97. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late James and Louise Hachey. Charlie was retired from the Department of National Defence as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He was an overseas veteran of WWII serving from 1940-1945 and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 10. He will be sadly missed by family and friends however we are comforted with thoughts that he is now with the love of his life, Lauretta! Charlie is survived by: three daughters: Lois Cranfield (Kerry) of White Rock, BC; Sue Johnston (Rob) of Millerton, NB; Anne Hachey (Michel Clement) of Moncton, NB; two sons: Robert (Debbie Foley) of Nelson, NB and Paul of Newcastle, NB; nine grandchildren: Robbie, Marc, Tara, Scott, Effren and Honorine Hachey, Ryan and Lindsay Johnston and Laura Cranfield; four great grandchildren: Rohan, Riley, Liv and Molly and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife: Lauretta, Charlie is predeceased by: sisters: Bernetta, Beulah, Sadie and Clara and brothers: Ben, Bliss, Fred, Ned, Owen, Jim and Bill.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 11 AM with Monsignor Joseph Woods officiating. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Good Council Roman Catholic Cemetery, Millerton, NB. In Charlie’s memory, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
