Eleanor Mary MacMillan
Eleanor Mary MacMillan, 88, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, passed away Friday May 3, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Charlie & Jen (Harris) Turple. Eleanor moved to Pictou Island at a young age, later she raised her family there and moved back to Pictou when her family were grown. She was a member of the Pictou Island Women’s Auxiliary and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Pictou. Surviving are children, Ann (John) Chambers, Foxbrook; Sandra (John) Knowles; Debbie (Les) Avery; Ross; all of Pictou, eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Helen Dickson.
She was predeceased by children, Jean and Jackie.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday with Amanda Henderson officiating. Family burial will take place on Pictou Island at a later date.
