Sandra Dominey

We the family regret to announce the passing of Sandra Dominey on May 3, 2013 at the CB Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born in 1950 to the late Arthur H. and Mary (MacIntyre), with whom she lived until their passing in 2006, and 2011 respectively.
Sandra began the next chapter of her life with her new family in L’Arche community outside Whycogomah. Where she enjoyed working and shopping at the “The Ark” Gift shop and used clothing store. She took part in many activities from concerts, hikes, walk-a-thons, and shopping trips, to endless birthday parties, suppers, and dances. Her dream to meet her idol Jimmy Rankin came true this past fall at one of his concerts, which was a birthday gift from her house. With the help of so many great people, Sandra had the best year and a half of her life.
Sandra is survived by her sister, Darlene (Albert) Leahy; nephews, John, Jody, Scott, and Simon and nieces, Marla and Alyssa. She also leaves behind many cousins. Especially Pat, Marlene, and John who visited her regularly.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Arthur J. Dominey in 2011.
There will be no visitation. A grave side service will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery, Louisbourg. With Minister Nancy Whitney-Latham, DLM officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brake, Dr. Jerrad, and the wonderful staff of the ICU. Thank you to all of her L’Arche family, too many to name but especially her Corinthian House assistants, Gray, Rebecca, Jenn, Rose, Merita and Aloysius, and the home care co-ordinators, Mary, Mukthar and Cathy. You all gave Sandra so much love and support; we could not thank you enough.
