John Albert Huggins

Father, partner, Johnny, Grampie Johnny, Jack, Papa John, neighbour, and friend. There were many names to know him by; the memories unique to each of us. We will cherish the life that he shared with us. John Albert Huggins of St. Patrick’s Road, Hope River, passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the age of 72. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Muriel (Smith) Huggins.
Left to mourn are his loving partner, Aletha Mullally, who gave John new life till the end; his Huggins family: sister, Shelba Hewitt (Don), Fenwick, Ontario; daughter, Kim Coles (Phil Papineau), granddaughter, Madeline Coles (and her father Darryl Coles), and granddaughter, Sarah Papineau, all of Ottawa, Ontario; and daughter, Natasha Huggins of Canmore, Alberta; his Mullally family: stepchildren, Sharon Mullally-MacKinnon of Hope River, and grandson, Cody; Pam Mullally (Ian Gauthier) of Hope River and grandchildren Alyssa and Daniel; Barb Mullally of Mayfield and grandchildren, Keaghan and Kamya; Brent Mullally (Belinda) of Mayfield and granddaughters, Jessica, Martine, Meagan, Emma and Candice; and Tanya Mullally (Scott Ryan) of Charlottetown, and grandsons Mason and Ethan; and his St. Patrick’s family, especially Terry and Natalie Perry and James Proctor; and countless other family and friends, human, four-legged and feathered, all included.
Respecting John’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. John’s life will be celebrated by a private family gathering. Those wishing to remember John and his love for animals may make a donation in his memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society.
