BROWN, BLAIR RAYMOND CURTIS - (1943 - 2013) - Mr. Blair R. C. Brown of Seal Cove Grand Manan Island passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital Saturday, May 4, 2013. Blair was a jack of all trades as he practiced his skills at various trades throughout his working life as he found himself working in Lobster Pounds, a Carpenter, also building campers for Islanders. He worked aboard of the Golden Dawn Herring Seiner, and later worked for many years at General Marine as a Marine Mechanic, Fabricator, Welder, and was very talented as a Hydraulic Specialist. He served on the former Grand Manan School Board. His passions were summer vacations with his children in one of his campers, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling in his earlier years. Often Blair could be found taking one of his beloved dogs for a drive and spending countless hours with his father in most recent years and will be remembered for his kindness and pleasant smile. He is survived by his father Mr. Maurice Brown of Deep Cove; his daughter Darla (Wade) Ingalls of Grand Harbour; son Darin Brown of Moncton; one brother Terry (Donna) Brown of Deep Cove; his grandchildren; Delaney, Sydnie, Sophie, Cole and Emma; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Florence and his former wife Olive (Green) Brown.
Visiting will take place at Ells Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating and Rev. Ward McComiskey assisting. Blair’s family has requested donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
