Passed peacefully away after a brief illness on Monday, May 6, 2013, Bill Clarke aged 90 years. Born in Victoria, NL he was predeceased by his sisters: May Forward, Sadie, and brother, Harold. Leaving behind the love of his life, his wife of 63 years, Minnie (Morris). Also leaving to mourn his passing are his children: Leonard, Doreen (Greg Stokes), David (Doris Walsh), Pamela (Hughie Turpin). Poppy’s treasures, his grandchildren: Allison, Stephanie (Richard Trahan), Lesley Anne, Stephen, William, Amelia, and Jennifer and his great-grandson Clarke Trahan. Also left to mourn his brother, Leonard (Doris) as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Bill served in W.W. II with the Canadian Armed Forces and participated in the liberation of Holland. He spent many years as a businessman on Bell Island and also many happy years after his retirement in St. John’s and Lower Island Cove. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Dr. H.
