The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, of John Thomas "Tom" Wells of Summerside, aged 86 years. Survived by his wife Marguerite MacEwen; his daughters, Debi Wells (Tom Carpenter), Linda (Ken) Sunderland, and Beverly Wells, all of Ontario; son John (Claire) Wells, New Milford, Connecticut; stepdaughters Shelley (Brian) McAloney, Gloria (Brendan) McShane, Beth MacEwen (Michael Gallant), and Carol (Kent) MacFarlane; 24 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Malcolm (Liz) MacQueen and Wes (Marjorie) MacQueen; sisters-in-law Hazel Millar and Mary Wells; and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Evelyn MacQueen; brother Charles Wells and stepdaughter Wendy Hughes. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. Funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Summerside, on Saturday at 3 p.m. Visiting hours at Trinity United Church from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation, the Trinity United Church or the Mount Allison University Alumni – Class of 1950 Project would be appreciated.
