DESPRES, FERNAND JOSEPH – It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Fernand Joseph Despres which occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 23rd, 2013. Born 1949, in Rogersville, NB, he was the son of the late Lionel and Zita (Caissie) Despres. Fernand was a labourer with Local 900 for many years. He loved playing Texas Hold’Em with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hanging out with family and friends at Tim Hortons. Fernand will be greatly missed by his daughter Julie Garnett (Glenn) of Baxters Corner and their children Matthew and Jordan; brothers Cleo (Ruth) of Orillia, On., Ivan (Thora), Ovila (Kathie), Romeo (Linda), Louis (Judy), Jean-Guy, Ronald (Darlene) all of Saint John; sisters Yvonne Pelletier (John) and Maria Hart (Bob) both of Saint John. Besides his parents, Fernand was predeceased by his son Daniel, sisters Rita and Celina and brother Roger.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitations being held on Saturday, May 25th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday, May 27th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
