UNDERHILL, JANIE HANNAH - 1912-2013 - Janie Hannah (Colford) Underhill, of Blackville, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 100. Born in Howards, she was the daughter of the late George and Hannah (Furlong) Colford. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Bernice Coughlan of Blackville, Elizabeth (Betty) (Reginald Kimball) of Dartmouth, NS, and Rita Beattie of Fredericton; six sons, Ward (Muriel) of Blackville, Wilson (Bill) (Carol) of Blackville, Donald (Wendy) of Blackville, Garth of Blackville, David of Fredericton, and John (Lisa) of Moncton; one sister, Julie McCormick of Blackville; one brother, Henry Colford (Nancy) of Howards; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilson Underhill; her sisters, Alice, Tessie, Annie, Susie, Yvonne, and Gracie; and her brothers, Joseph, Edward, and Peter.
The family received relatives and friends from St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, in Blackville, on Sunday, May 26, 2013, from 7 to 9 pm, and will again on Monday, May 27, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 11:00 am, with Father Joseph Okoko officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, in Howards.
