Passed peacefully away at The Interfaith Senior Citzens Home, Carbonear on Sunday, May 26, 2013, Vera Curnew Bishop of Cupids, aged 91 years. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Henrietta (Piercey) Curnew, husband Douglas, infant son John, brothers Billy, Gerald, Harry (Molly), Cyril, Ernest (Madeline), sister Doreen (Ern) Piercey, brother-in-law Charles Forbes. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories, sons Robert (Dorothy), Ronald (Dianne), Roger (Vianne); sister Henrietta (Babe) Forbes; brother George (Shirley); sisters-in-law Olive and Gladys Curnew; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a large number of nephews, nieces, other family and friends. Resting at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus with visitation on Monday, May 27 from 7:30-9 p.m., Tuesday, from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Funeral to take place from The Anglican Parish of The Resurrection, South River on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Burnt Head, Cupids.
