It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Payne announce his passing on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 56 years Dora; sons: Charlie (Joan) and Keith (Sheena); daughters: Darlene (Allan) Wilton, Sharon Payne (Walter) and Lola (Dave) Noel; sister Mary Macdonald; brother Edward Payne; grandchildren: Melanie (Nathan Sugimoto), April (Sheldon Crocker), Mark, Andriena and Charlie; great-grandchildren: Mia and Aiden; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Wilson and Francis Payne, brother Charlie, sister Lola and grandson Michael Wilton. Friends may visit the Anglican Church of the Epiphany in Woody Point on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon Louise Richards officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
