ASBRIDGE, ROBERT – Robert Asbridge passed away after a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 6, 2013. Rob was born in Midland, February 22, 1935 to the late John and Amy (Jackson) Asbridge. Rob spent many years with International Harvester and later with Bayview International and Finley Floor Finishing. He loved snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and many animals. Robert is survived by children Brenda (Kevin) Williston and Richard (Heather) of Saint John; mother to his children Lois O’Brien; brother George of Midland; sisters Elizabeth Ewing of Bedford, NS and Evelyn (Ernest) Isbill of Midland; brother George (Deborah) of Midland; brothers-in-law Jack (Myrtle) O’Brien, Donald O’Brien and Paul Seguin; sisters-in-law Barbara Slattery, Shirley O’Brien, Jean Silversides (Richard) and Elizabeth Brideau Asbridge; granddaughter Ashley and his beloved pet Sadie. Besides his parents, Rob is predeceased by sisters Poppy Asbridge, Katherine Gregg, Mildred Totton and Edna Seguin; brothers William and John Asbridge. The family would like to especially thank Shirley McFee for her kindness and dedication to Rob over the years.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Friday, June 7 from 12 to 2 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 2 P.M. with a reception to follow.
