The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, July 26, 2008, of Verna May Ramsay Palmer (nee MacFadyen) of Borden-Carleton and formerly of Freeland, P.E.I., aged 94 years. Verna was born on June 8, 1914, in Victoria West, P.E.I., to her late parents, James J. and Beatrice E. (nee Ramsay) MacFadyen. Beloved wife of the late Harold Lloyd Palmer. Loving mother of Elaine Verna Palmer of Borden and Lloyd Harold (Sheila) Palmer of Sydney Mines, N.S. Also lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Laurel (Perry) Palmer Thompson, John David Palmer (Kendra Noonan), Chris Palmer, Kendra (Stephen) Gaudet and Grant (Lynn) Palmer, along with her five great-grandchildren and her foster-children Karen Lynn Stewart and Danny McAleer. Survived by her sister Clarissa Ward of Richmond. Besides her husband and her parents, Verna was predeceased by her son, John David Palmer, her brothers, Ellis and John MacFadyen, her sisters, Elsie MacDonald and Kathryn Henderson, and her mother and father-in-law, John D. and Annie Pearl (nee Burns) Palmer. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Wednesday, July 30 for funeral service in Cape Traverse United Church at 1 p.m. Interment to take place in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Foxley River.
