JOHNSON, ELSIE ADA - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Elsie A. Johnson, after a period of failing health, at Bobby's Hospice on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Born on March 10, 1921 in Olinville, NB, she was the wife of the late Eldon M. Johnson (1999), and she was the oldest child of Sadie (McCutcheon) and Edson Donald. Elsie is survived by six children, G. Donald (Lois Sandwith) of Hampstead, E. Elmer (Edna) of Greenwich Hill, E. Joanne Cooper (Burton) of Dartmouth, NS, Gary E. (Marjorie) of Brown's Flat, David W. (Sandy) of Brown's Flat and Joseph F. of Brown's Flat. Lovingly remembered as Grammie Sheep by her 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by five sisters and one brother, Phyllis Copp, Alberta Lourie, Blanche McGowan, Jean Beckett (Eldon "Junior"), John (Joan) and Marion Makepeace (Doug Allen); sister-in-law, Mary Donald; several nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family and friends; also "Faithful One", Joanne Goodine. Besides her husband and parents, Elsie was predeceased by one grandson in infancy; brother, Charles (2007); daughter-in-law, Jean (Brown) Johnson (2007). Mom was a lifetime member of Wesley United Church and the Greenwich Rec. at Brown's Flat. Mom truly enjoyed the Friday night card parties and faithfully made her egg sandwiches. She was anxiously waiting for the new crop of "Eric's" blueberries. Mom was happiest when she was making apple pies for Sunday lunch with her "boys". No one left her home without a cup of tea and a piece of pie.
