MEGARRY, WILLIAM "BILL" JOHN - With his family at his side, the death of Bill Megarry, husband of the late Winnifred Megarry, occurred peacefully at Bobby's Hospice on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Bill was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on February 15, 1929 to the late William and Jane (Elliott) Megarry. He came to Canada in March of 1962 and was employed at Saint John Shipbuilding until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed the tranquility walking the trails in Rockwood Park and fishing the woodland streams. Bill was a member of the RAOB and received his 50 year jewel. Bill is survived by his step-daughters: Janis Cunningham and Karen Merritt (Gordon); step-son, Randy Cunningham (Alayne); seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Jay, Ryan, Amy, Stephen, Richard and Beth; three great-grandsons; and seven great-granddaughters; and his sisters in Northern Ireland: Peggy, Esther and Doreen.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
