MICHAELS, George Albert Sr. – 79, Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 27, 1934 in Sandford, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Ernest Hubert and Martha Mary (Surette) Michaels. George worked as a crane operator for most of his life, and he was a veteran of the Yarmouth Fire Department, Hook and Ladder Co. He is survived by his children, George Jr. (Wendy) Michaels, Brian (Marsha) Michaels, both of Yarmouth; Ann LeBlanc, Tusket; Jill Hersey, Yarmouth; Judy (Milton) Corporon, Port Maitland, as well as by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a brother, Wilfred (Helen) Michaels, Saskatoon, SK. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Betty Lou (Smith) Michaels; a daughter, Betty Lou; brothers, John Francis and Ernest. In accordance with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth, and there will be no visitation or memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
