At the Western Hospital Alberton on Saturday, June 22, 2013, Perley Ivan Hardy Alberton, age 93. Beloved husband of the late Anna (nee Coughlin) Hardy (2005), age 93. Born in Mill River East on Oct. 17, 1919, he was the son of the late Edward and Beatrice (nee Ramsay) Hardy. Dear father to Pauline (Gordon) Barnett, and Allan (Joanne) of Alberton. Cherished "Poppy" to his five grandchildren, Shannon Barnett- Aikman (Tom Aikman), Kris (Natalie) Barnett, Kelly Barnett, Tyler Hardy, and Mitchell (Amy) Hardy; and great-grandfather to Evan, Anna and Ryan Aikman, Kolton Barnett, and Taya Hardy. He was predeceased by his wife Anna Belle (nee Coughlin) Hardy in 2005 and by his brother, Wesley and his wife Betty, and by a sister, Elizabeth and her husband Ivan Gaudet. "Uncle Perley" will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and many friends. Perley is resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held on Wednesday, June 26, from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, at 2 p.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Alberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund or to the Gordon Memorial United Church Building Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
