Harvey Janes

JANES, HARVEY - Harvey George Janes passed away at Kennebec Manor on June 25, 2013, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Dipper Harbour on June 3, 1921 to the late Percy and Edna (Craft) Janes. Harvey was a Lobster and Salmon fisherman in his younger years and was the 1st School Bus Driver in the Dipper Harbour area retiring after 20 years. Also worked construction for Gilmour Construction, Port of Saint John, and Glabraith Construction. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Kathleen (Kay) Ingalls Janes and children, Gloria (Jim) McAninch, Edwin (Wanda) Janes, Rosalie (George) Maker, Gary (Ruby) Janes, Karen (David) Belding, Arthur Janes, Stephen (Darlene) Janes, Darlene (Scott) Estey; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers, Eugene Janes, Dewey (Kathy) Janes; brother-in-laws, Owen (Mae) Ingalls and Howard (Beulah) Ingalls; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Janes, Grace Janes, Barbara Janes, Elva Janes and Elizabeth Ingalls. Predeceased by brothers, Ronald, Kenneth, Reginald, Perry and Howard; sisters Wilhemine Flewelling, Alberta Janes, Elsie Nordahl and Flora Downey; sisters-in-law Ida, Lillian, and Norma Janes, Jean Kisner and Daisy Annis; brothers-in-law Jack and Henry Ingalls, Harold Annis and Lyle Kisner.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Georges St. Judes Anglican Church. Interment will take place in the Maces Bay Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Kennebec Manor for their kindness and compassionate care given to Harvey while a patient there.
