Carol Mae Carrigan
CARRIGAN, Carol Mae – 71, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born May 1, 1942, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mildred (Rafuse) Blair. Carol worked at Shoppers Drug Mart for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Army Navy Airforce Club, liked to play 45s and loved animals. Carol is survived by her daughter, Krista Carrigan, Truro; grandchildren, Stephen Woodfine, Matthew Woodfine, Bradley Woodfine, all of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland; Cody Little, Truro; sister, Donna (Terry) Fenton, Riverview, New Brunswick; brothers, Paul Blair, East Mountain; Dr. David (Bianca) Blair, Valley; Mark (Elizabeth) Blair, Truro; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Darren Carrigan; brother, Gary in infancy. Special thanks are extended to Carol’s family doctor, Dr. R. Loshaj, Dr. Henderson and the Palliative Care Team and to the nurses on Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care given. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Carol’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, and where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, Reverend Boyd Vincent officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Aenon Baptist Cemetery, North River. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Carol’s memory to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) are welcomed.
