It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo William Scanlon announce his passing on Wednesday June 26th, 2013 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Gloria, son Daniel (Dorcas) of Plum Point, daughters: Amy (Sandy) House of Port Saunders, Ann (Melvin) Ryan of Corner Brook, Leona (Gordon) Scanlon Wabasse of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Helen (Tom) Hamlyn of Port Saunders, Sonya (Jeremy) Simms of Ottawa; grandchildren: Danielle, Brittany, Ian (Erin), Brandon, Adam, Neebin, Summer, Angela (Martin), great-granddaughter Abigail; sisters: Mary (Kevin), Ellen (Raymond), Eileen (Doug), Susan (John); brothers: Roland, Jerome (Noreen); brothers-in- law Earle (Donna), Hubert (Anne); sister-in-law Mary (Dave), and a circle of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Dominic and Jane; brother Edward, sisters: Elsie, Alma and Betty. The family will be receiving friends at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Thursday evening and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 from where funeral service will take place on Saturday June 29th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gabriel officating. Interment to follow at Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to a Charity of one’s choice.
