The death of Horace Everett Cail, 78 years, husband of Shirley (Landry) Cail, occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday August 7, 2008. Born in Pine Ridge, Kent County, on June 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Ethel (Flanagan) Cail. Horace had worked as an auto and diesel mechanic for many years in several locations, including the U.S. Air Force base in Labrador, Ottawa, Charlottetown and Moncton. He was a member of the Irish Canadian Cultural Association, the Elmwood North Community Association and the Federal Superannuates National Association. He had a love of music. His natural ear for music allowed him to play any musical instrument that crossed his path. Many of his leisure hours were spent playing his guitar, harmonica, auto-harp, organ, piano and accordion while singing his favourite songs. Horace is survived by his wife, Shirley (Landry) Cail; three daughters, Darlene (Philip) Macaulay of Bedford, N.S.; Melodie (Paul) Tomcik of Halifax, N.S., and Leanne Cail of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; two grandchildren, Logan and Bryson, and two sisters, Betty Spencer of Moncton and Jean (Ivan) Beers of Irishtown, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his four brothers, Melvin, Arnold, Robert and Walter, and six sisters, Ruth Cail, Dorothy Hannah, Annie Robinson, Elverna Fahey, Laura Ward and Margaret Killam. Visiting will be at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma St., Moncton, on Friday August 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held from St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion St., Moncton, N.B., on Saturday August 9, 2008, at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev Fr. Yvon Arsenault. Followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be in the Saint Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Irishtown, N.B.
