Lawrence Arthur "Sonny'' Macdonald

The death occurred suddenly, yet peacefully, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, August 7, 2008, of Mr. Lawrence A. “Sonny’’ MacDonald, of Stratford, and formerly of Cardigan, age 63 years. Loving spouse and special friend of Jean McMurrer. Sonny will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by brothers and sister, Charlie Art (Goldie) MacDonald of Souris, Carl “Ducky’’ (Heather) MacDonald of Stratford, and Joan (Peter) Doucette of Mermaid; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan (Austin) McCloskey, Helen (Kevin) Langer, Kevin (Linda) McMurrer, Ann (Steve) Gosnell, Anita (Kevin) Edwards, Jimmy (Lilla) McMurrer, David (Angela) McMurrer, Carrie and Charlotte McMurrer; stepmother, Eileen MacDonald; stepbrothers, James MacLean and Garfield MacLean; stepsisters, Wanda Livingstone and Laura Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Art and Sarah (Burke) MacDonald; and brother, Rollie MacDonald. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:30 Saturday morning, then transferred to All Saints Church, Cardigan, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at All Saints Parish Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations in Sonny’s memory may be made to Queen Elizabeth Hospital “Friends for Life Campaign’’ or P.E.I. Humane Society.
