TAYLOR, NINA ISABEL (BOYD) - With family by her side, Nina I. Taylor of Saint John passed away on June 29, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Pennfield Ridge, NB on April 7, 1918 she was the daughter of the late George and Janet (Holt) Boyd. She was a graduate of Saint John High School (Class of 1935), a lifetime member of St. George's Anglican Church, an Honourary Life Member of Daughters of the Nile of NB, Chapter #2 and Past Worthy Matron of the Philip A. Jerguson, Chapter #18, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 50-year member of the Westside Bridge Club and had enjoyed many winters in Florida with her husband after his retirement. She was previously employed by Brown's & Howard's Pharmacy and Dixie Lee West. Survived by sons, Dick (Pat) of Lower Sackville, NS, Gerry (BettyAnne) of Fredericton, Jack (Susan) and Jim (Brenda) of Saint John; daughter, Wendy Boyles (Gordon) of Grand Bay-Westfield; sister, Celia Perry of Saint John; grandchildren, Jane, Brenda, Heather, Andrew, Jeff, Julie, Jennifer, Joe, Jamie and Scott; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jay, Logan, McKinley, Jace, Jillian and Nicholas; and one great-great-grandchild, only one month away. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick/Pup); baby daughter, Patricia at 13 months; and the Boyd brothers, Merton, Donald, James and Clifford.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701), with visiting on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, with Eastern Star Service at 6:45 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. George's Anglican Church, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery and reception at St. George's Church Hall. Thank you to management and staff of Care-A-Lot/Sea St. Manor for 5 years of excellent care provided to our Mom and a special thanks to Cody and Madison for providing so much joy. Also, thank you to all staff of the Saint John Regional PCU for their kind palliative care during Mom's final days.
