Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, June 29, 2013, with his loving family by his side, of Wilfred Joseph Gallant, beloved husband to Delia Mary (nee Gallant) Gallant of Piusville, P.E.I., age 86 years. Born at Piusville on Oct. 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Mary Ann (nee Gallant) Gallant. Cherished father to Barry (Beverley), Blair (Judy) and Cynthia, all of Piusville. Loving grandfather to Cora Lee and Ashley. Special grandfather to Skyler. He is survived by his siblings, Oscar (Theresa) Gallant of Piusville; Edna Gallant of Miscouche; and Ben Gallant of Summerside. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Lawrence Gallant of Montreal; Peter (Aldona) Gallant of Piusville; Frank (JoAnne) Gallant of Toronto; Elmer (Florence) Gallant of Saint John, N.B.; Palma Allan of Piusville; Shirley (Norman) Myers of Toronto; Marina Barclay of Calgary; and Leona Gallant of Alberton. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his son Wade, siblings, Rose, Josie, Evelyn, Alyre, Paul, Louise, and brothers-in-law, Clarence Gallant and Ron Allain. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Tuesday morning from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 11 a.m., Rev. Danny Wilson, Celebrant. Interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Anthony's Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
