Entered into eternal rest while surrounded by her loving and devoted daughters at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on June 30th, 2013, aged 90. Predeceased by her husband Gus – 1982, sons Fergus 2008, Steve 1991, Barry 1998, her parents Michael and Johanna Maher, sisters Mary, Angela, Philomena and Lucy, grandson Stephen and her daughter in-law Shirley. Leaving to mourn daughters: Shirley (Terry), Bay Bulls, Sharon (Dave), Mobile, Alice (Matt), Mobile; grandchildren: Dana, Lisa, Dale and Robin, Al and Lisa, Regina, Susan, Wendy and Chris, Michael, Lynette, Stephen and Jill, Shane, Jordan and Vanessa, Travis – Shaylene; great-grandchildren: Connor, Jack, Amelia, Sophie, Selena, Rachel, Liam, Carter, Aiden and Maria; sister-in-law St. Martina O’Reilly, Presentation Convent; brother-in-law Robert O’Rielly (Boston, Mass.); daughters-in-law: Carmel (Steve deceased), Carmel (Fergus deceased); her only cousin Joseph Maher (Bay Bulls); nieces: Rosemary, Patsy, Theresa, Sandra, nephews Brian, Michael and Kevin, also a large circle of friends especially Nellie Jones, Virginia and Catherine Dillon. Her former Home Care Workers and her friends at Alderwood Estates, Witless Bay. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital for the loving care that was given to Mom. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Wednesday, July 3rd from 5-9 p.m., Thursday, July 4th from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to take place from St. Patrick’s R. C. Church, Witless Bay on Friday, July 5th at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory can be made to Mobile R. C. Cemetery Fund in care of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
