
Ronald "Ron" House
Ronald “Ron” House, 81, of Truro, formerly of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, passed away gently, as he lived his life, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born August 1, 1931, in Bellburns, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late William and Gladys House and was predeceased by his son, William Todd House. Ron was a member of St. John The Evangelist Anglican Churches, both in Truro and Corner Brook. He was a math and history teacher at G.A. Mercer Junior High School until his retirement in 1986. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed salmon fishing and moose hunting. Ron loved his family and was a very honourable man; he always kept his word and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Ron is survived by his wife, Margaret (Camp); children, Gladys Grant, Dartmouth; Danny (Anna) House, Ottawa; step- children, Valerie King, St. John’s, Newfoundland; John (Beverley) King, Kentville; Forrest (Elizabeth) King, Halifax; Elizabeth King (David Walton), Annapolis Royal; Lorna King (Raoul Fernandez), France; Jacqueline King (Randy Duguay), Debert; grandchildren, Steven, Stephanie, Danny Jr., Arthur, Tommy; siblings, Henry (Edith) House, Roy (Miriam) House, Manuel (Sylvia) House, Emma (Bill) Dawe, all of Newfoundland; half siblings, Janet (Tom) Wortman, Dartmouth; Con (Doreen) House, Newfoundland; Norma House, Newfoundland; step-brother, Colin Bennett, Newfoundland. Along with his parents and son, Ron was predeceased by his step-brother, Adrian Bennett. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Cedarstone Enhanced Care (Garden Road) and The Reverend Lori Ramsey for their love, care and support. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service was held Saturday, June 29, 2013, The Reverend Lori Ramsey officiated. Interment at a later date in Newfoundland. If so desired, donations in Ron’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or any wildlife society are welcomed.
