Joyce Rae

COALBURN – Joyce Elizabeth (MacDonald) Rae, 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6th in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born April 30, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Daniel (Bud) and Margaret (Weagle) MacDonald.
Joyce was a resident of Coalburn for the majority of her life with the exception of her childhood years spent in Rocky Mountain, Pictou County.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her five beautiful grandchildren, gardening, and soaking up the sun on Lochaber Lake or at Seafoam Campground. She will be remembered for her generous hospitality, undeniable sweet tooth, and her necessity to always have everything neat and tidy.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 39 years, Donnie; daughters, Stephanie (Jason) Cameron and Julie (Jeff) MacDonald; grandchildren: Isaac and Clara Cameron, Carson, Benjamin and Bransen MacDonald; siblings: Scott (Ethel) MacDonald, Elaine MacDonald, Kenny (Toby) MacDonald and Jayne (Arnold) Greene; sister-in-law, Gayle (Sam) Fraser and a large extended family.
Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by an infant sister and in-laws Jack and Alice Rae.
Visitation will be held from 4:30-5:45 p.m. followed by a public memorial service at 6 p.m. at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson presiding. Committal service will take place in the Valley View Cemetery, East River St. Mary’s.
