INEZ RUTH LOUCKS

Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: June 29th, 2013

Inez Ruth Loucks (nee Carey), aged 90, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Inez was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Charles Howard Loucks.

She is survived by her six children Norman, Barbara, Bob (Deb), Doug (Linda), Judy (Andy) and Clifford (Carrie). In addition, she will be lovingly remembered by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. And we, all of her family immediate and extended will remember her for her love of life, her generosity and the joy she shared in life's little treasures.

Inez and Howie were married in 1942 and moved from Regina to Calgary to Nelson and finally settled in Kamloops in 1955. Throughout the years Inez was involved in numerous organizations such as Lady Lions, the Boys and Girls Club and the Kamloops Skating Club and was known for her excellent sewing, costume designing and mastery of numerous skills and hobbies. All her children could count on the fact that whatever sport or organization they chose to be involved in, Mom was always there, supporting them and the club.

You would think that being a wife, a homemaker and Mom for six children and being involved in all their activities would have been enough to manage but that wasn't the case. In her early years in Kamloops Inez was an Usherette at the Paramount Theatre, was a bookkeeper for a local business and later managed the Bookstore at Cariboo College, now known as TRU. She retired at age 65 as the Manager of the Kinsie Wool Shop at Aberdeen Mall and will be remembered by many patrons for the help she gave them with their various projects.

Inez's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Nurses of the Royal Inland Hospital ICU and 5th floors for their compassionate and supportive care for Mom and the family during Mom's last days.

Respecting Inez's wishes there will not be a memorial service. Cremation has been provided by Schoening Funeral Service and messages may be left for the family at: www.schoeningfuneralservice.com

Should friends desire, donations in memory of Inez may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or charity of your choice.
