Wayne Smith

Born: October 15th, 1964

NEW GLASGOW – Wayne Edgar Smith, 48, New Glasgow, formerly of Toronto, passed away suddenly at home, Sunday, July 7, 2013.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Iona (Donaldson) Kenny, New Glasgow and step-father, Alex Kenny, Churchville; and the late Charles Smith.
He was a painter and maintenance supervisor for years at Toronto General Hospital. Wayne enjoyed fishing and tying flies. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, nephew and friend.
Besides his mother, Iona and step-father Alex, he is survived by his brothers, Oral Smith, Little Harbour; Gregory “Greg” Kenny, Churchville; sister, Bonnie Westaway, Port Hawkesbury; step-sisters, Jean (Myles) Stevenson, White Hill; Delores (Greg) Johnson, Springville; Nancy (Willie) Ingenemson, West Branch; Karen Kenny (Alan Hache), Eureka; step-brothers, Lloyd (Jane) Kenny, White Hill; Robert (Kathy) Kenny, Irish Mountain; nieces, nephews, great-nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his father, Charles he was predeceased by his sister, Cheryl MacKay; nephew, Joseph “Joey” Conway.
There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held 11a.m. Friday in Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook with Rev. Keith Hazzard officiating assisted by Rev. Barry Jack.
Donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to The Life Centre.
Arrangements are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
