It is with great sadness that the family of the late GERTRUDE KAVANAGH of Fox Cove, NL, announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin, on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the age of 90. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: Sons – Cecil Kavanagh (Friend – Marie Cull) of Bull’s Cove, Ernest (Patsy) of Fox Cove & James of Fox Cove; Daughters – Bertha (Raymond Gover) of Fox Cove, Dorothy (Eugene Kelly) of Beau Bois & Gladys Kavanagh of Fox Cove; Daughter-in-law – Shirley Kavanagh of Burin; Sister – Susie Bennett of Burin; 13 Grandchildren & 19 Great-Grandchildren; Special Homecare Worker & Friend – Kay Antle; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by her Parents – George & Jessie Abbott, Husband – Walter Kavanagh, Sons – Albert & George Kavanagh, Grandson – Anthony Kavanagh, Daughter-in-law – Elsie Kavanagh, 3 Sisters & 2 Brothers.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Burin, on Saturday, July 6, at 10:00 a.m. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Fox Cove. In Gertrude’s memory donations may be made to St. Patrick’s R.C. Church Building Fund & Cemetery Fund or flowers gratefully accepted.
