It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Mary Scott announce her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the age of 74 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, five daughters: Doreen (Donnie Pawley), Judy (Dale Cole), both of Corner Brook, Sandra (Sean) Bartlett of Alberta, Brenda (Clyde) Hillier and Karen (Kevin) O’Leary, both of St. Johns; four sons: Cecil (Daphne), Brian (Sandra), Gordon (Carla) and Jerry (Janet), all of Corner Brook; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; special sister and ­brother-in-law, Maude & Jim Strowbridge; brothers and sisters: Eunie Savoy, John (Mona), Hetti (Reg); also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was ­predeceased by her husband, Cecil Scott; parents: Cecil & Joy Rose; ­brothers and sisters: Melvin, Fred and Jean; and brothers-in-law: Lorne Savoy and Harris. At Mildred’s request, ­cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Friday, July 12, 2013 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with The Very Reverend Baxter Park officiating. Interment to ­follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of one’s choice.
