Rose-Hélène Chiasson

CHIASSON, SR. ROSE-HÈLÉNE - Sister Rose-Hélène Chiasson, in religion, Sister Marie Ste-Eugénie, Filles de Jésus, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre at the age of 76 and in her 55th year of her religious profession. Born in Margaree, NS, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie (LeBlanc) Chiasson. Besides her religious family, she is survived by two brothers: Bernard (Elizabeth) of St-Joseph-du-Moine, NS, and Marcel of Toronto, ON; two sisters: Dorothy (Gerard) and Valerie, both of Chéticamp, NS; two step-sisters: Isabelle (Bob) of Dartmouth, NS, and Josephine (Robert) of Sydney, NS. She also leaves to mourn many nephews and nieces to whom she was very close. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry (Patricia); two sisters: Marie Louise (Arthur), Bertha (Wilfred); and a step-sister, Irene (Bob). Sister spent the greater part of her life teaching in Nova Scotia at L’Ardoise, Saulnierville, Louisdale, D’Escousse, Petit de Grat and Arichat. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff palliative care unit of the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont UHC as well as Dr. Trites and the staff of Unit 3B of Victoria General Hospital in Halifax for their wonderful care provided to Sr Rose-Hélène.
Her remains will be resting Monday, July 15 from 7 to 9 pm at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street in Moncton (858-1900) then also resting on Tuesday from 9 am at the Maison-mère-des-Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré Coeur, 125 King Street in Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) from where the funeral mass will be celebrated in their chapel Tuesday at 10 am.
