Muriel Steeves
STEEVES, MURIEL - Muriel Marguerite Steeves, 95, of River Glade, passed away at the Jordan Lifecare Centre on July 12, 2013. Born on September 10, 1917 in Steeves Settlement, she was a daughter to the late Alexander and Zilpha (nee Alward) Steeves. Muriel is survived by daughter, Joyce (Dollard) Barriault of Elgin; her sister, Stella Kyle of Salisbury; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Steeves of Petitcodiac; and also by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Albert Steeves; son, Wayne Steeves; son and daughter-in-law, Richmond (Cleta) Steeves; infant son David; her sister, Marion Smith; her brothers: Donald Steeves and Reid Steeves; and by her half-sisters: Greta Fawcett, Viola McMackin and Edna DeBow. Muriel was a lifetime member of the Annabelle Gay Women’s Institute as well as the L.T.B.A. Lodge. She was a member of the Wheaton Settlement Baptist Church and also a member of the Wheaton Settlement WMS.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 7 to 9 pm and the funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Lloyd O’Blenes officiating all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. Interment will be in the First North River Cemetery.
