DONALD THOMSON

DONALD THOMSON

Born: December 29th, 1929

Passed in: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Passed on: July 11th, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Thomson announce his sudden passing on July 11th, 2013.

Dad will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, of 61 years, Whilhemine, son Kelly and daughter Donna (Dennis) Lockie. He is also survived by his brothers the "Thomson Boys": John, Allen, David, their families, and numerous other relatives.

Dad was predeceased by his parents Elisabeth and Donald Thomson.

Dad was born and raised in Turtle Valley, B.C., where he met mom. They were married in Chase, B.C., and later moved to Loon Lake, B.C., where dad worked as a logging contractor before settling in Kamloops in the early 60's. Dad was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 115 and applied his skills operating heavy equipment on many of the "mega" projects in B.C. including Mica Creek, Revelstoke and the Ridley Island Coal Port.

Dad lived life one full day at a time and loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who loved Salmon Fishing on the island or casting his rod for trout on the local lakes. An avid gardener he tended to his garden each year and took great pride in the fruits of his labour. However, without a doubt Dad's greatest passion was seeing the world go by from the seat of his bicycle. He could often be spotted around town, the surrounding areas or on the Kettle Valley rails on a ride.

A Memorial Celebration of a life well lived will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19th, 2013 at Kamloops Funeral Home located at 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

We will truly miss you, Dad.
Thank you so much for all
the wonderful memories
