OGDEN, George Gerald “Cappy” – 77, The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2013 in the home. Born June 7, 1936, he was a son of the late James and Marion (Berryman) Ogden. Cappy worked as a labourer, and will be remembered as a strong, silent, gentle and forgiving man who would do anything for anyone. He was also a very spiritual man. Cappy loved music and dancing. He is survived by brothers, Stanley “Tootsie” Ogden, John “Dickie” Ogden and Gordon “Gordie” (Carol) Ogden, all of Yarmouth. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Walter “Ibby” Berryman, Thomas “Copper” Sisco, Donald “Barney” Ogden, Clifford “Whimpy” Ogden and a sister, Pauline “Girlie” Ogden. Visitation took place from 7-9 Sunday evening at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, where the funeral was held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 22, Rev. A. D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Cremation followed and interment took place in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
