Passed peacefully away in the ­presence of his family at the Western Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 18, 2013. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel & Martha Jane (nee Brophy); brothers: Riley, Ronald, Stanley, Hardy, Grant, Edgar, Edward, Lesley and Clifford; sister, Mary Jane Fortune; grandson, Craig House and great-grandson, Logan Jennieux. Leaving to mourn: his wife of 60 years, Ula (nee Pearce); children: Alonzo (Bridget), Harvey (Bernice Brophy), Darrell (Wanda), Dwight (Joan House), Sharlene (Wayne Lidster), Valerie Brophy (James) and Melda Hann (Paul); grandchildren: Della, Draper, Nicholas, Lisa, Dennis, TerriLynn, Stefan, Benjy, Joey, Jacy, Pamela, Kourtni and Kelsey; great-grandchildren: Randy, Nathan, Kathryn, Haylee, Sam, Dustin, Briana, Destiny, Cameron, Claire, Christopher, Brooklyn, Avrille, Cayleigh and Madison; sisters-in-law: Emily House, Audrey House, Mildred House, Helen Sparkes and Norma Pearce; brother-in-law, Hector Pearce (Judy). He will be missed by a large circle of relatives, friends and his home care workers: Chrissie Keeping and Norma House. Visitation will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Holy Cross Anglican Church in Daniels Harbour. Funeral service will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Whitten officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot. In lieu of ­flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
