ROBINSON, ISAAC - “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply, becomes a part of us.”- Helen Keller - It is with deep sadness that the family of Isaac Regan Robinson announces his passing on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. Born on April 28, 1931 in Blissfield, NB Isaac was the oldest of three boys. He was predeceased by his mother Lillian (Storey) Robinson; father Kenneth Robinson Sr., two brothers: Kenneth Robinson Jr. and Ira Robinson and infant son Perney Wayne Robinson. Isaac is lovingly remembered by his wife Carol, two sons: Brent (Bonnie) and Mark (Linda), six grandchildren: Derrick, Heidi, Lacey, Samantha, MacKenzie, and Kaiden and four great grandchildren: Jacob, Ethan, Landon and Lydia. Words often used to describe Isaac were: hard-working, quiet, friendly and loyal. He worked at Russell & Swim as an equipment operator/mechanic and also at Acadia and Tractors & Equipment as a mechanic. In 1972 he and his wife Carol began a 25 year run as owners and operators of the local Irving Garage. Although Isaac retired in 1997 he never stopped working. Whether you needed an oil change or just wanted to stop and chat, the garage doors were always open. Isaac was also a pillar of the community. He served as village councillor for 8 years and enjoyed any opportunity to partake in community events. Isaac was lovingly referred to as “Papa” by his grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were his pride and joy. We will remember him gently swaying on the front porch watching the traffic pass through town on a cool summer night.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Davidson’s Funeral Home in Doaktown, NB from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of Isaac’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 2pm at the Miramichi Valley Wesleyan Methodist Church conducted by Pastor John Treese. The family has asked for all donations to be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
