NADEAU: Alida Annette (Ruest) Nadeau passed away peacefully on July 16, 2013 at Foyer St. Joseph, Ponteix SK at the age of 88. Alida was born on August 29, 1924, the third of 11 children for Leon and Lea Ruest of Frenchville SK. She grew up on the family farm and went to school in Frenchville, Val Marie and Ponteix. After attending normal school in Moose Jaw, she taught at country schools and in Val Marie where she met and married Rene Nadeau. They lived and farmed there while raising their children, eventually retiring to Fort Macleod AB in 1975 and then to Lethbridge AB. Rene passed away in 1984. Alida moved to Kelowna BC for several years and back to Swift Current SK. Her past few years were spent in Foyer St Joseph in Ponteix SK. Alida will be remembered by her 6 children Ronald (Alison) of Westwold BC, Raymond (Diana) of Fort Macleod AB, Laurena (Denis) Bedard of Ponteix SK, Denis (Doris) of Winfield BC, Herve (Kerri) of Lethbridge AB, Marcel (Linda) of Dunmore AB, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Hector & Daniel Ruest of Frenchville SK, 3 sisters, Jeanne Begin of Ponteix SK, Laurianne (Maurice) Douville of St. Albert AB & Gabrielle (Ed) Wieclaw of Vegreville AB, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Rene, 2 brothers, Marcellin & Lionel Ruest and 3 sisters, Florence, Alice & Lillianne Ruest. A prayer service was held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 7:30 P.M.at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Catholic Church. The memorial service was held at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Catholic Church in Ponteix SK on Friday, July 19,2013 at 3:00 P.M.with Father Guy Amédée Ainemon officiating. The organist was Yolande Gorrill and a solo was preformed by Laurianne Douville. The urn bearers was Laurena Bedard and cross bearer was André Bedard. The eulogist was Raymond Nadeau. Lighting of the Candle was done by Denis Nadeau and readings were given by Marcel Nadeau and Hervé Nadeau. Intercessions were read by Alissa Jones and the offerings were presented by Sheldon Nadeau and Josée Pauls. The Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge AB at a later date.
